Learn to use a
camcorder, edit sequences and original footage,
write scripts, prepare storyboards, understand camera
angles and cutaways, the use of music and lighting, how to
create animations, and act in your own films!
There are opportunities to film on location and create a
piece of work to show to the public at the end of
the course. Everyone has a film in
their head!
We will provide you (as a total beginner with no previous experience) with everything you need to start digital movie making. We provide the use of quality 3-chip video cameras, explanation of the strengths and weaknesses of the various formats so you can choose the right camera, hands-on workshops in camera manipulation, lighting techniques, sound recording, editing and authoring a DVD, simple animation techniques.
Your tutors have professional experience in the fields of Camera Operation, Lighting, Editing, Animation, Video Documentary and VJ work. As well as your own projects there are many other opportunities such as working as part of a team on a collaborative film project. In the past these collaborations have been entered in the Cornwall Film Festival.
Not everyone is a director, a production needs sound recordists, camera operators, lighting technicians, editors, musicians, animators, runners, VJs scriptwriters too.
